The old model vs Real

What changes when you move

Most of what agents push back on at a traditional brokerage comes down to a handful of costs and a missing long term plan.

8 ways to earn at Real

Real publishes eight ways a US agent can earn. Here they are in one place.

1. Commission
85/15

Until your $12,000 annual cap, then 100% minus a $285 transaction fee (or 15% if less). $249 one-time sign-up fee.

2. Stock purchase plan
5% / 10%

Set aside 5% of your commission before cap and 10% after cap to buy Real shares, up to $3,400 and $15,000 on the $12K plan.

3. Purchase plan bonus
10% / 15%

Real adds a bonus on what you buy through the plan: 10% before cap and 15% after cap, as restricted stock units with a 1-year vesting period.

4. Capping award
150 shares

Stock award for reaching your $12,000 cap in your anniversary year (75 shares on a $6K cap, 50 on a $4K cap). 3-year vesting.

5. Elite production award
$12K in stock

After capping, pay $6,000 in post-cap transaction fees, or close over $500K in GCI and 10 transactions of $1M or more, in one anniversary year.

6. Elite cultural award
$8K in stock

Available to Elite agents who give back, for example by teaching approved topics at the Real Academy.

7. Revenue share
5 tiers

5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, and 1% of the GCI of agents in your network until each one caps. Up to $4,000 per Tier 1 agent a year.

8. Attracting shares
75 shares

When an agent you attract closes a first qualified transaction with at least $2,000 in GCI (35 or 25 shares on lower cap plans).

Stock awards are restricted stock units subject to vesting and good standing. Share counts and dollar awards are set by Real and can change.

Long term

Income that can outlast your production

Willable revenue share. After at least 3 full calendar years with Real, you can name a beneficiary to keep receiving your revenue share, subject to the program addendum. Real says the beneficiary can receive up to 100% after five years with Real.

Real Retirement. Agents with at least three years of service can keep earning monthly revenue share after retirement, as long as they keep an active real estate license.

Both programs have requirements and can change. Read the details on Real's help center and joinreal.com.
