FAQ

Straight answers about Real and mortgage.

The questions agents and buyers ask me most, answered from Real's and One Real Mortgage's own published terms.

Joining Real

What is Real?

The Real Brokerage Inc. is a technology-powered real estate brokerage listed on Nasdaq under REAX since 2021. Real reports 36,000+ agents across all 50 US states, D.C., and six Canadian provinces.

What does it cost to join?

On the US agent plan: a $249 one-time sign-up fee, a $900 annual brokerage fee paid from your first 3 transactions, and a $50 broker review fee per transaction. There are no monthly desk, tech, or franchise fees. Personal transactions carry a flat $250 fee.

What is the split and cap?

85/15 until you pay $12,000 to Real in your anniversary year. After that, you pay $285 per transaction (or 15% if that is less), and $125 on leases.

Can I bring my team?

Yes. Real's team plan caps the team leader at $12,000, team members at $6,000, and platinum team members at $4,000. Book a call and we can map your current structure.

Who is my sponsor, and can I change it later?

Your sponsor is the agent who most influenced your decision to join, named in your Independent Contractor Agreement. It cannot be changed after you sign, so choose on purpose. If you want that to be me, use my join page.

Stock and income

How does stock work at Real?

Real offers an optional stock purchase plan (5% of commission before cap, 10% after, with bonus shares), a capping award of 150 shares on a $12,000 cap, a $12,000 Elite production award in stock, and attracting awards for helping agents join. Each has its own vesting rules. Details are on the Why Real page.

What is Elite?

Elite is Real's top production award: $12,000 in stock for agents who cap and then pay $6,000 in post-cap fees, or who close over $500K in GCI and 10 transactions of $1M or more, in one anniversary year. Elite agents pay a $100 post-cap transaction fee.

Can I estimate my own numbers?

Yes. The income calculator compares your take-home today with Real, and the rev share calculator models the 5 tiers.

Revenue share

Does revenue share come out of the other agent's pocket?

No. It is paid by Real out of the 15% company split, not from the agent's 85%. It stops for that agent once they cap, until their next anniversary year.

What does each tier pay?

5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, and 1% of each agent's GCI in your tiers, up to $4,000, $3,200, $2,400, $1,600, and $800 per agent per year.

How do I unlock more tiers?

Three ways: the number of producing agents you sponsor directly (5, 15, 20, and 25 open Tiers 2 through 5), the size of your network (750, 1,000, and 1,500), or your own production (capping opens up to Tier 3 and Elite opens Tier 5). See Revenue share explained.

What does producing mean?

At least $450 in splits or post-cap fees paid to Real over a rolling 6 months. Agents who have capped count as producing until their next anniversary, and new agents get a one-time 6-month grace period.

When and how is it paid?

Monthly, around the 15th. Since September 1, 2026, US revenue share payments go to a Real Wallet Business Checking account. A $175 annual participation fee and a 1.2% processing fee apply.

Can I leave it to my family?

Real's willable revenue share program lets a named beneficiary keep receiving revenue share after an agent passes away, subject to the program's service requirements and terms.

Mortgage and Real Originate

Do I have to use One Real Mortgage if I work with a Real agent?

No. Using One Real Mortgage, or any affiliated company, is never a condition of buying, selling, or refinancing with a Real agent.

Is anything on this site a loan approval?

No. Nothing on this site is a commitment to lend or an offer of credit. Approval depends on underwriting by third-party lenders, and not all applicants qualify.

How do I verify a loan originator's license?

Use NMLS Consumer Access. One Real Mortgage Corp. is NMLS #198414, and I am NMLS #2681224.

Can I keep selling real estate in Real Originate?

Yes. Real Originate is built for full-time agents who become part-time W2 loan originators with One Real Mortgage, paired with an internal loan officer on every file. See Real Originate.

How much does Real Originate pay?

Your origination compensation is set by your loan originator compensation agreement with One Real Mortgage, and it is not published publicly. Level Up network rates are published, and you can model them in the Level Up calculator.
